This is a Group Therapist position covering Tuesday-Saturday at our adolescent outpatient program.


Job Summary:

The Group Therapist provides group therapy for assigned groups, individual sessions as assigned, and milieu management and support (supporting client care techs, managing client emergencies, etc). This position will also provide coverage for clinicians on PTO and may take a small caseload during times of high census.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Upholds and maintains the Company, mission, and values (called the Lightfully Shining Commitments ).

Provides Group Therapy:

  • Delivers group therapy sessions to clients based on skill level and utilizing group curriculum.
  • Develops and coordinates group sessions including the necessary preparation, prioritizing, scheduling and arranging for space and other resources.

Provides Individual Therapy:

  • Provides individual and family therapy as needed to clients and families.
  • Provides neurofeedback sessions as appropriate to training and skill level.

Works as Part of a Multidisciplinary Team:

  • Participates in treatment team meetings when/if possible, reporting on observations of clients in groups and milieu interactions.
  • Collaborates with Program Managers, Primary Therapists and other staff to support clients.

Milieu Management

  • Assists the Program Manager in providing orientation and support for new clients as they adjust to the milieu.
  • Facilitates weekend Admissions/Discharges when working on a weekend day.
  • Maintains client records through methods such as documenting client assessments, charting client information, preparing progress notes and reports in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements, documenting for future reference and ensuring that access to and disclosure of information and records are in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Documentation

  • Completes appropriate and thorough documentation within established time frames, including progress notes for individual and family sessions, weekly therapy assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Receives supervision from leaders as required based on training and licensure.
  • Provides supervision for staff as appropriate (e.g., Client Care Techs, interns).
  • Attends weekly trainings and individual/group supervisions as assigned.
  • Provides training and orientation to new staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of mental health as it relates to mental health disorders through methods such as reviewing literature and research, consulting with clinical experts within the field, evaluating clinical practice and participating in professional development activities to improve care through new practices.


Specific Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


General Skills and Requirements:

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Master s Degree in Counseling-related field
  • Associate or Provisional License Required
  • 1+ years of Mental Health Experience
  • Able to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • In keeping with DSS regulations, this position
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Complete First Aid Training (First Aid Certificate)
  • Complete required health screening, TB clearance, Criminal Record Clearance


The pay range for this position is $70,000-$93,000 annually.
