Working Title Assistant Food Service Manager Role Title Food Service Technician III - 79213 Location Virginia Beach - 810 Job Description **Purpose of Position:**Assists the Food Service Manager in the daily operations in the kitchen.

Oversees the preparation of food and serving to the cadets, ensuring appropriate sanitation, food handling and safety requirements are met.

Ensures the work area is in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition;

Maintains a cooperative attitude of working together with the food service manager and all other staff.

This position will also be responsible for the daily food service requirements in the

kitchen regarding, food production logs; cadet/staff meal sign in log; School Nutrition Program point of service logs, cleanliness, temperature control logs, executing the menus, and ensuring compliance by food service technicians. Minimum Qualifications **Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for Entry:**Knowledge of food preparation and experience in serving, chilling, and producing breakfast, lunch, dinner with snacks;

Experience in cooking from scratch, temperature experience, measurements and health codes;

Ability to operate kitchen equipment;

Ability to meet and maintain proper sanitation requirements;

Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs, and work well in extreme temperatures;

Ability to work in a team setting, and capable of maintain highest standards regarding Health

inspections and OSHA .

Food Handler Training Course obtained in accordance with the Virginia Beach Department of Health. Preferred Qualifications **Preferred:**

Six or more months experience working in a food service environment that includes meal preparation following menu and recipe information. Special Requirements **Special Requirements:**Applicants must be able to work morning, afternoon, or evening shifts.
