SUMMARY

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, electrical and electronic systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage maintenance tickets.
  • Use MaintMizer to open, close work orders, document repairs made.
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function.
  • Experience in electromechanical equipment diagnosis and repair. Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, PLC integration. Must understand integration between systems.
  • Must be good communicator and keep production informed of progress.
  • Top level maintenance position.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Replaces and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Mastery of reading blueprints, electrical or hydraulic schematics and other technical materials.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment and programmable controllers.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cuttings torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
  • Logs time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records.
  • Design and fabricate machine and equipment modifications as needed to achieve customer satisfaction. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 14001 systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school in maintenance or related field and 6 years technical experience in industrial maintenance position or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment and can demonstrate a mastery of at least four (4) of the essential maintenance skills.

Able to follow both written and verbal instruction. Must be very clear written and verbal communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
