Hybrid Schedule: Tues/Wed/Thurs Onsite | Mon/Fri Remote

Work Hours: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Required Schedule


  • Scheduled Lunch Break (Alternating Phone Shifts): Each day, you will assist with monitoring the phone lines during the AM or PM Phone Shift. The number of calls varies per day, so you will also perform other job duties during your Phone Shift, but you will have a scheduled lunch break each day based on which Phone Shift you are assigned to
  • AM Phones Shift: On phones from 7am-12pm with a scheduled lunch from 12pm-1pm
  • PM Phones Shift: On phones from 12-4pm with a scheduled lunch from 11am-12pm

Must-Have Skills:

  • 2+ years of professional administrative, customer service, or coordination experience
  • Effective team player proficient in working both independently and in a group setting to manage workflow while being accountable for results
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, effectively prioritizing work, and completing time-sensitive assignments to meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to coordinate between multiple teams and stakeholders and ensure detailed follow-up
  • Professional email correspondence
  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and information investigation abilities


Technical skills:

  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Adaptability to learn various business applications and software tools
  • Competence in data entry and word processing
  • Quick learner with an eagerness to learn who is adaptable to evolving and changing processes
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in the Utility industry or a construction environment
  • Experience working or interfacing with municipalities, such as the City of San Diego
  • SAP experience
  • Associate or bachelor s degree in a related field

Project Details: When construction is done on commercial and residential buildings, municipalities like the City of San Diego or other governmental agencies are responsible for inspecting the completed gas and electric work before SDG&E can provide services to the building. Once the municipalities complete and approve these inspections, they issue inspection releases to SDG&E, verifying completion.


This role involves receiving and posting inspection releases coming to SDG&E from municipal and government agencies responsible for inspecting customer gas and electric construction projects. If customers are ready to receive new gas and/or electric services, the New Service Representative will initiate the resulting meter setups accordingly.


Responsibilities:

  • Receives, enters, and verifies inspection releases from the authority having jurisdiction.
  • Coordinates work with C-O Centers, AMO, GTS, SOT, ARSO, Trouble Department, and Project Management.
  • Issues meter set orders upon receipt of all application information, service completion, and inspection releases.
  • Assists other departments in resolving problems or correcting errors with City/County inspections and planning work.
  • Maintains records of all inspections received from the governmental agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Responds to inquiries from various departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
