Job Summary

The Special Education Aide classification is designed to serve students whose instruction is identified and specified in an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Service Plan (SP). These students have learning, communication, physical, and/or mild to moderate disabilities or other impairments, such as emotional disturbances. Incumbents in this class perform various instructional tasks in such areas as reading, writing, and mathematics. The incumbent will be assigned to work with a small group of special education students in a general education classroom. Green Dot California classified personnel are represented by the nimo Classified Employees Association (ACEA), an affiliate of the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the National Education Association (NEA).
