Position Reports To: Associate Dean, School of Law

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $18.07

Benefits: Limited University's benefits

Days & Hours: Variable weekly schedule to be established by supervisor. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.

BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:

All research assistants are chosen directly by faculty members. Individual faculty members are responsible for publicizing any available research assistant positions. Golden Gate School of Law maintains a pool of qualified individuals who would like to provide research assistance. At this time there may not be an immediate vacancy, but candidates may provide their application to this posting.

Applications must be submitted through our online application system in order to be considered for any academic position, unless otherwise noted in job announcement.

Serve as research assistant for School of Law faculty. Provide research, draft memos, and/or summary reviews as requested on various topics as defined by each professor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Research assistants work closely with faculty as defined by the professor.
  • Conduct legal research and writing on a variety of topics at the direction of a School of Law Professor.


Qualifications

  • Education requirement:
    • A BS, BA, Master's degree or other relevant degree.
  • Skills and abilities:
    • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
    • Acute analytic and research skills
    • Initiative and openness to evolving responsibilities and work environments.
    • Sound command of the academic subject
    • Strong attention to detail
