Research and Knowledge Analyst


Job Details

The Research Services department (formerly, "Library Services") is responsible for the administration for dozens of online research systems, organizing information related to the practice needs of the law firm and clients we serve, and disseminating this information accordingly. The Research & Knowledge Analyst provides direct assistance managing information resources and passwords, coordinating research trainings, supporting the CLE (Continued Legal Education) program, and other assignments, as needed. This position reports directly to the Director of Research Services and Knowledge Management, will work on-site in our New Orleans office, and will provide regional support throughout the firm, as needed.


Responsibilities

Password Management

  • Creates the onboarding password packages for new attorneys and staff.
  • Off-boarding of departing attorneys and staff from the research vendor password lists.
  • Assists users with password issues.


Maintains SharePoint Portal Pages

  • Responsible for the design and updates to the portal page.
  • Routinely checks the links on the department s portal page.
  • Updates relevant information such as search tips and passwords.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the CLE portal page.


Training Coordination

  • Coordinates the research services training program for the department.
  • Maintains appropriate statistics on training classes and attendance.
  • Calendaring tasks for the events.
  • Assist with the onboarding, orientation and training of new attorneys and paralegals.


Research

  • Provides in-depth research presents and packages research findings clearly and concisely.
  • Monitors daily news, legislative and regulatory developments as required.
  • Evaluates new research resources and tools.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Firm s online and print resources.


Dockets, E-Filing & E-Recording

  • Expert on using the federal and state court dockets.
  • Assists users with e-Filing & e-Recording tasks and passwords.


CLE

  • Point of contact for the online CLE provider for the Firm
  • Coordinates the user experience for attorneys and paralegals.


Qualifications

  • Master s Degree (MLS) in Information or Library Science (ALA accredited preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Library setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in LexisNexis, Westlaw, or other standard legal/business research platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, SharePoint. and Teams).
