Job Summary:

The Manager, Field Environmental is a key position for TPC Group. The individual in this position is responsible for setting strategic direction for the company and for the day to day compliance of all operating and terminal facilities. Manages the activities of the Environmental staff at TPC Houston Operations, Port Neches/Lake Charles Operations. He/she directs environmental compliance and performance functions in accordance with corporate compliance guidelines and applicable environmental requirements.

The successful candidate will interface with various departments, contractors, agencies and trade groups to advance the goals of the company as well as assist all employees in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Roles:

  • Provides leadership in the execution of regulatory permitting and compliance activities for various programs, including, but not limited to Title V, NSR, Greenhouse Gas (GHG), Environmental Emissions Inventory Questionnaire (EIQ), Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), and HRVOCs, wastewater and solid waste management.
  • Prepare capital project job packages, submit AFEs, review and submit project timeline and cost estimates.
  • Manages the activities of the Environmental staff.
  • Develops Environmental staff within the guidelines of TPC programs.
  • Directs environmental compliance and performance functions in accordance with corporate compliance guidelines and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Interfaces with various departments, contractors, agencies and trade groups to advance the goals and mission of the company as well assist all employees in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages all aspects of the Environmental department.
  • On-call for Environmental support.
  • Serves on various teams and committees, such as the Houston Community Advisory Panel.
  • Reviews contractor/vendor activities.
  • Active participant on plant manager staff .
  • Records, analyzes, and reports key environmental metrics for facilities and the company.
  • Represents the Environmental Department in plant capital project reviews and owns capital projects in the Environmental area.
  • Serve as liaison for Corporate and Responsible Care audits.
  • Plant liaison to Corporate EHSS organization.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of environmental experience required in a petrochemical, refining industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience with a proven track record as a leader of high performing teams.
