This position manages the production, quality, and safety of the converted products lines to meet the Company s goals and objectives in a safe and effective manner. Monitor and coordinate personnel activities and equipment as well as direct daily operations consistent with company policies and procedures. Report on key process metrics, workforce wellness, production, and opportunities to the Plant Manager. Promote teamwork within the management teams and on the plant floor.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Production Responsibilities:

  • Support a safe working environment across all production teams with a positive attitude and an emphasis on teamwork.
  • Understand how to use SAP, print labels, and keep accurate inventory.
  • Coordinate ribbon and sheet machine activities to maximize production and minimize downtime with all departments and Plant Manager.
  • Maximize ribbon and sheet machine speeds and minimize machine downtime and waste.
  • Understand all upstream and downstream processes.
  • Engage in and problem-solve daily personnel issues.
  • Work closely with the Shipping Manager to meet customer ordersa ccurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager for direction and project coordination.
  • Work closely with the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to ensure all safety standards are being met.
  • Manage all personnel activities, payroll, overtime, and approve PTO so that proper staffing is maintained.
  • Enforce housekeeping standards to ensure the machine areas are clean and organized.
  • Keep records of personnel, equipment, and activities essential for machine operations.
  • Continually review processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and support JSA (job safety analysis) and implement safety changes as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Office and Staff Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and respect among all employees.
  • Implement employee training and cross-training to perform production jobs functions.
  • Conduct formal and informal performance reviews reporting to this position.
  • Audit the production records for complete and accurate information.
  • Recommend for hire, disciplinary action, and termination.
  • Tour the machine areas numerous times daily to oversee personnel and equipment.
  • Provide and recommend training and development as required.
  • Support plant needs or any related work coordinated throught he Plant Manager.
  • Ensure sufficient machine supplies are in inventory.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with sales and customers.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present findings to a wide variety of audiences both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, and perform other functions associated with leading and managing a group.
  • Knowledge of and competency using UKG, SAP, and Microsoft Office products.


Education, Certifications, and Experience

College degree or 5+ years of converted products manufacturing experience.


Work Conditions

  • On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Walking throughout the property several times a day.
  • General bending and lifting required.
  • May be exposed to general manufacturing hazards in the plant environment.
  • On-site safety gear required as defined by the plant environment, and federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations.
