Position Summary:

ParcelBio is seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead the manufacturing of novel mRNA medicines. They will be responsible for producing high-quality mRNA for use in in vitro and in vivo studies to optimize the performance of the ParcelOligo platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the synthesis, purification, and formulation of RNA therapeutics. We are looking for an enthusiastic and intellectually curious individual who enjoys a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable operating within the size and pace of a small start-up company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture mRNA therapeutics for platform and preclinical studies
  • Perform analytical assessment of mRNA drug substance and drug product
  • Contribute to the development and scale-up of processes for mRNA synthesis, purification, formulation, and analytics
  • Maintain detailed SOPs and experimental records in an electronic lab notebook
  • Communicate scientific results in internal and external meetings

Qualifications:

  • M.S. with 3+ years of industry experience or B.S. with 5+ years experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline
  • Experience working with in vitro transcribed RNA, including synthesis, purification (i.e., HPLC and TFF), and characterization (i.e., capillary electrophoresis); and/or experience in protein biochemistry (i.e., purification and characterization with chromatography-based methods) with an eagerness to work with RNA
  • Prior experience with lipid nanoparticles a strong plus, including formulation (e.g., using microfluidics) and characterization (i.e., DLS and RiboGreen assays)
  • Detail oriented in experimental planning, execution, analysis, and lab notebook documentation
  • Organized and able to move multiple projects forward both independently and within a team

Compensation:

The expected annual salary range for this full-time position is $95,000-$115,00 plus eligibility for benefits and equity incentives. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
