Summary

The Process Technician is responsbile for the setup and operation of injection molding machines to ensure the production of high-quality plastic parts. This role, situated within the Production Department, reports directly to the Tool Room Manager and indirectly to the Production Supervisor. The Process Technician plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing activities, ensuring adherence to set standards for each production run to meet customer expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform setup and troubleshooting of injection molding machines, including startup/shutdown procedures and mold setting.
• Diagnose and address machinery issues to ensure the production of parts meeting specified quality standards.
• Uphold processes to meet or exceed company benchmarks for efficiency and utilization.
• Validate process parameters and implement necessary adjustments to enhance cycle times.
• Monitor process and workstation data outline in mold setup sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Address and resolve scrap issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Quality department to enhance process control measures.
• Adhere to all company processes and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Foster an environment conducive to personal and professional development and exccellence.
• Ensure Complaince with all state and federal laws pertaining to workplace safety.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a process technician in a plastic injection molding environment.
• Experience with both hot runners and insulate runner sytems is preferred.
• Proficiency in comprehending process setup instruction and company policies.
• Scientific molding experience a plus.
• Certification from an injection molding program a plus.
• Familiarity with computerized inventory tracking systems (experience with IQMS is advantageous).
• Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Mechanical aptitutde.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work indepedently or in a group setting with minimal supervision.
