Tool and Die Maker
Location: Mt. Clemens, MI
Shift: 2nd: 2p-10p with occasional OT based on demand
Pay: $27+ based on Experience Level
Qualifications/Experience
High school diploma or GED
Nice to Have Skills:
Ability to read blueprints and specifications, experience in CAD (specific VIZY)
Has experience in building dies, understanding dimensions and making sure things fit.
Experience with Large progressive dies.
Minimum of 3 years' experience.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Abide by all policies and procedures including but not limited to: Code of Conduct, Safety, Attendance, and general work rules.
Attend all regularly scheduled shifts and be available for overtime hours as needed
Perform all assigned duties in a timely effort with integrity and strong effort.
Keep assigned work areas clean and sanitary at all times while containing and reporting all workplace safety hazard or conditions.
Ensure knowledge of and maintain compliance with the Quality Policy
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
- Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.
- Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
- Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
- Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.
- Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.
- Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
- Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies.
