Job Description / Essential Elements:

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision, this individual maintains food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe, and sanitary condition; assists in the preparation, setting up, serving and selling of food; and does other related work as required. This individual cleans serving counters, tables, chairs, food containers and other equipment; operates dishwasher and washes trays, plates, utensils, and other serving equipment; assists in stetting up food preparation lines; heats, sets up, sells and serves food to students and faculty; cleans and stores kitchen equipment; assists in the preparation of food, involving such activities as preparing sandwiches, mixing salads, grating cheese, and preparing fruits and vegetables.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.

ABILITIES: Demonstrates an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards students of varied age groups; works and motivate students; communicates effectively in oral and written form in English; demonstrates empathy when working with students having special needs; understands and carries out oral and written directions; establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with children and adults.

OTHER: Person performing service in this position classification may exert 20 to 50 pounds of force to lift carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
