Job Summary:

Responsible for overall clinical oversight and case management to assure resident clinical needs are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Be available on call at all times
  • Provides nursing oversight and case management to assure resident clinical needs ae met
  • Performs an initial nursing assessment at the time of the resident's admission
  • Be on-site at least every 45 days to observe and assess each resident
  • Conducts a nursing assessment within 48 hours: a resident's return from hospital, skilled facility, significant change in the resident's mental or physical status or a change in treatment of medication
  • Completes a new Resident Assessment Tool at least annually; within 48 hours after a significant change in condition
  • Provides delegation, supervision, and on-site instruction and guidance to certified nursing assistants, certified medication technicians, and unlicensed direct care staff
  • Provides instruction and direction to the manager and certified medication technician regarding medication monitoring for any medications the resident receives
  • Establish a system to assure all certified medication technicians have a current and active certified medication technician certificate
  • May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising
  • May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments

Qualifications:

A registered nurse who is licensed to practice registered nursing in Maryland and has successfully completed the Board ofNursing's approved training program for registered nurse, delegating nurses, and case managers in assisted living. Be free from Tuberculosis, immune to measles, mumps, rubella, ad varicella ( chicken pox) as evidenced by vaccine history of antibody serology. Have a criminal background check or criminal history record check completed within 30 days before employment; Have sufficient skill, training, and experience to serve the resident's in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of assisted living.
CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Education/Certifications/Experience

  • EDUCATION: Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing is necessary. Completion of Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • CERTIFICATON: Current RN license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. Possession of First Aid and current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required
  • EXPERIENCE: Sufficient experience in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved. Must have a minimum of five (5) years general nursing experience, with a least two (2) years in working as a Delegating Nurse and two(2) years' experience in supervision, administration, consultation or involvement in the assisted living survey process
