Description

The Payroll Administrator will be a key member of the payroll team supporting 675+ employees. This position will assist with the processing of all payrolls for our 4 Indiana facilities and 2 Corporate locations, including bargaining unit and salaried payroll. The Payroll Administrator will report to the Accounting Supervisor - A/P and Payroll.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, 8 day, and bi-weekly payrolls for all plants and corporate salaried.
  • Review electronic time sheets and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and record information onto designated systems/records.
  • Record changes to employee information to maintain and update payroll/HR records.
  • Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
  • Keep track of leave time, such as PTO, FMLA and leaves of absence for employees.
  • Prepare check requests for payroll related vendors.
  • Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters.
  • Process verifications of employment and other requests for information.
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties for the Plant Manager, including but not limited to sorting mail, ordering and organizing office and lunchroom supplies, and operating the phone system.
  • Other duties as required to provide necessary support to human resources, accounts payable, corporate accounting, and payroll-related and tax-related vendors

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required, post high school course work or degree in HR, Business, or Accounting strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years payroll processing experience required, including at least 2 years bargaining unit payroll processing.
  • Strong Excel skills, numerical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation, and ability to build and maintain effective work relationships


Physical Location: Primarily Portage Location, occasionally at Duneland or LaPorte Facility

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday
