BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Health and Safety Professional provides cost effective technical Environmental, Health and Safety service to project areas. Under general supervision, ensures compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in an EHS related field preferred

EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience (EHS experience preferred)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote and demonstrate the Devon and EHS Employee/Leadership attributes
Provide cost effective EHS guidance and recommendations to Operations as they strive to operate properties at a maximum economic rate while complying with EHS regulatory requirements and Company EHS standards
Develop, gather and maintain EHS data for routine EHS reports and regulatory documents
Participates in EHS incident investigations, EHS Reviews and training sessions
Assist field personnel with ensuring contractor compliance with Devon EHS Standards
Participate in Pre-Project Environmental Assessments, job inspections and facility inspections
May represent the Company in trade associations to promote the Company's position related to EHS and learn about other companies' activities that may benefit the Company
May represent the Company at regulatory hearings or meetings
Assist in auditing contractor EHS performance, policies and standards
Oversee contractors conducting EHS field activities
May be required on relatively short notice to travel to field locations to provide EHS support to Operations
Interface with federal and state/province agencies, i.e., OSHA, EPA, DOT, state/province Environmental/Safety Agencies, etc. as required
Understands and provides operations support for a variety of environmental compliance requirements including air, water, environmental impact, endangered species and waste management

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Oil and gas industry experience preferred
Practice safe work habits at all times
Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
Advanced level computer skills
Live in or be willing to relocate to the local operating area as required by the Company
Able to travel as required
