Summary:

Position responsible for managing and coordinating services and activities - staff and associated resources - of the Healthcare Technology department reporting directly to the director of Healthcare Technology Management (HTM). These responsibilities include but are not limited to device/system installation, new product evaluation, inspection, repair, overhaul, upgrade, configuration.

Responsibilities:

* Reviews the Healthcare system for compliance with all codes, rules and regulations regarding medical devices and systems in accordance with CMS and/or Joint Commission.

* Develops and implements procedures to ensure quality control for the department. Monitors, reviews, and controls the ordering and stocking of spare repair parts, equipment and inventory control.

* Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures associated with supported systems.

* Evaluate results within business unit to determine if organizational objectives are being met

* Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.

* Planning and/or participating in meetings, study sessions, departmental activities to include manufacturer and/or vendor training.

* Coordination and/or involvement in special projects, incidents involving equipment, research, and/or other assignments as indicated

* Assist in development, monitoring and reporting of departmental budgets. Evaluate budget performance against assigned projects, and work with IT and operational leaders to address financial and human resource constraints.

* May provide indirect supervision to staff members within department.

* Provide technical support and consultation on the installation, configuration, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing applicable medical devices, providing accurate reports with recommendations for improvements.

* Co-manages preparation and implementation of healthcare technology management plan. Review the plan annually and modify as necessary to improve performance, reflect organizational changes and industry shifts.

* Represents the director of Healthcare Technology Management when and where required

* Drive company and/or personal vehicle between various Children's Health location for meetings/projects or to service and/or install equipment.

How You'll Be Successful:

Work Experience

* At least 7 years Related experience Required

* Supervisory or management in a clinical / biomedical engineering environment Required

Education

* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related engineering and/or management or related field Required

Licenses and Certifications

* Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician Required

* Valid unrestricted driver's license and proof of insurance required
