Key Responsibilities:

  • Music Curation: Identify and curate high-quality music and soundscapes that are in the public domain or available under commons licenses, aligning with the podcast's themes and mood.
  • Original Composition: Compose original music pieces that complement the podcast's narrative, enhance listener engagement, and reflect the visionary ethos of the #SystemsChange movement.
  • Collaborative Integration: Work closely with the production team to seamlessly integrate music into the podcast episodes, ensuring that the audio enhances the overall listener experience without overshadowing the content.
  • Thematic Alignment: Ensure that all music choices and compositions reflect the podcast's focus on systemic change, adding depth and dimension to the discussions on sustainability and social innovation.
  • Audio Branding: Contribute to the development of a distinctive audio branding for the podcast that resonates with the audience and supports the podcast s mission.
  • Legal Compliance: Manage and maintain records of music licensing, ensuring all music used is compliant with public domain or commons license requirements and properly credited.

Qualifications:

Role Description

This is a volunteer remote role for a #SystemsChange Volunteer Podcast Music Curator & Composer. The role involves curating and composing music for CrowdDoing's volunteer podcasts, which highlight the organization's mission and ongoing social impact projects. The Music Curator & Composer will work with the podcast team to develop original music and collaborate with other volunteers to ensure the quality and relevance of the music is consistent with CrowdDoing's ethos.


Qualifications

  • Experience in music curation and composition, and a keen awareness of different genres and styles
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
