Design Engineer-Electrical Controls


Position Summary: As a Design Engineer-Electrical Controls, you'll primarily operate from an office environment, with occasional site visits for project needs. Reporting to the Design Engineering Manager, your role involves communicating with clients, contractors, and subcontractors, selecting appropriate field devices, and creating and revising drawings to ensure project goals are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities: You will utilize customer drawings to develop working drawings for panel assembly, in-house production, and field installation. Maintaining revision control and adhering to project-specific procedures like GAMP/cGxP is essential. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure project requirements align with customer needs and financial objectives.

Qualifications and Skills: The ideal candidate should possess expertise in reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical, and architectural diagrams, including P&IDs. Proficiency in electrical distribution and control theory/application is required, covering a range of topics from relay logic to communication network design (Ethernet/IP, BACNet MSTP/IP, Modbus RTU/TCP).

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with SolidWorks Electrical is crucial, encompassing tasks like creating PLC/controller drawings, configuring projects/reports, managing symbols, and more. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and Distech DDC hardware is desirable.

Interpersonal Skills: We value proactive individuals with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are key, alongside a commitment to safety and quality.

Physical Requirements: This role involves light to moderate physical demands, occasional travel, and flexibility with work hours to meet project deadlines.
