Filler Operator - 2nd shift


Job Details

Essential Functions: Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in ModelDairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.

  • Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Maintain quality standards for all products packaged using good manufacturing practices
  • Maintain highest efficiency possible based on standards set by company policy
  • Setup, operate and sanitize liquid dairy filling machinery to meet production schedule and according to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proper weights, code dates, quantity ordered, top and bottom leak detection check, and gable seal checks on all products bottled
  • Taste all products to be bottled prior to starting that run for good, clean flavor
  • Sanitize filler every 30 minutes
  • Check butterfat of all white milk products prior to run
  • Initiate repair of machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of all production run time, weight, downtime, temperature of products run, and packaging material dumped
  • Monitors construction of packaging.
  • Maintains professional and appropriate dress, hygiene and personal appearance
  • Assist with training new team members as needed
  • Enforce all company rules and regulations
  • Enforce all company policies and programs with employee's working directly and indirectly under supervision.
  • Report any violations of policies and programs to management for corrective action.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Skills/Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Previous knowledge of basic equipment operations
  • Demonstrate good judgment, and problem solving and decision making skills as well as being an organized record keeper
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must possess basic mathematics skills.
  • Must possess basic reading skills.
  • Must possess the following speech, vision and auditory characteristics; Speech level is required to be able to convey information in a high noise level environment.
  • Vision is required to monitor the operation of machinery, construction of packaging and the coloration of the dairy product, as well as to be aware of the hazards of operating machinery and absorb technical data concerning hazardous materials.
  • A sense of taste is required to test dairy products.
  • Hearing, while wearing ear protection, is required to be made aware of hazardous conditions concerning the operation of machinery.
