Litigation and Complex Claims Specialist
Incline P&C Group is now hiring an experienced Litigation and Complex Claims Specialist to join its Claims team in Austin, TX. Incline P&C Group and its subsidiaries are fronting companies with claims handled by general agents (GAs) or third-party claims administrators (TPAs). The ideal candidate will have previous P&C insurance carrier experience and experience working with GAs and TPAs. This role will report directly to the Claims Manager and is a great opportunity for those looking for career growth in a dynamic and innovative organization.
Responsibilities:
- Review and respond to requests for settlement and reserve authority from GAs and TPAs.
- Provide consultation, advice, and direction to GAs and TPAs on claims issues such as coverage, reserving, responses to settlement demands, etc.
- Review and modify or approve responses to policy limits demands, denials of coverage, and payments as required by applicable contracts or otherwise requested by GAs or TPAs.
- Review and understand reinsurance agreements as they affect claims handling.
- Assist management and GAs in resolving complex insurance claims.
- Assist management and GAs with evaluating high exposure losses.
- Function as a liaison with reinsurers, internal parties, GAs, and TPAs on claims related matters.
- Monitor GAs and TPAs for compliance with regulatory requirements and with contractual requirements, including but not limited to compliance with applicable reinsurance agreements.
- Assist in conducting claims audits of GAs and TPAs, including in-depth and specific targeted audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field of study.
- 10+ years of claims experience including 5+ years of handling litigated and large complex liability losses.
- Thorough understanding of insurance-related legal procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Multi-line claims handling experience with a strong emphasis on commercial auto bodily injury claims.
- Associate in Claims (AIC), Casualty Claims Law Associate (SSLA) or Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA) or other claims-related designation preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and keen analytical skills.
- Advanced professional written and verbal communication skills.
