ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER INTERNSHIP
Berkeley Electric is seeking a motivated, hardworking individual to fill an upcoming temporary position. This position is designed specifically for someone with interest in line work with very little to no experience. A successful candidate must enroll in the Electrical Line Worker Third Class Certificate Program at Trident Technical College and will receive $1000 towards tuition. All necessary tools and books will be covered by BEC.
After the recruitment process, when the successful candidate is not actively participating in class at TTC, they will be working alongside one of our crews, at one of our respective districts.
OBJECTIVES
- To learn the tools and materials needed for the construction and maintenance of electrical lines in order to be an effective and efficient groundman.
- To gain knowledge, experience, and skills necessary to accept duties and responsibilities of a Groundman.
- To successfully complete and pass the Electrical Line Worker Third Class Program at Trident Technical College.
- To learn and promote safety in accordance with the policies and procedures in order to maintain safe working habits and conditions.
ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER INTERNSHIPEDUCATIONHigh school education or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCEWill be enrolled and will be actively participating in the Electrical Line Worker Third Class courses at Trident Technical College.
JOB KNOWLEDGEWilling to gain effective working knowledge of Cooperative safety policies and procedures.
ABILITIES & SKILLSMust have ability to operate power tools and other equipment. Must have ability to climb poles with hooks. Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license. Must have ability to successfully complete the Electrical Line Worker's Third-Class courses at Trident Technical College.
WORKING CONDITIONSOutside work in various weather conditions. Regular work hours with some overtime and extended workdays due to emergencies. Climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting of heavy objects up to 100 pounds required.
