Serving customers for over 55 years with a reliability rate of 99.99%, we re developing more than a dozen new low-carbon district energy systems across North America, including the revitalization and decarbonization of our downtown Vancouver steam plant which will be one of North America s largest thermal fuel-switch projects and provide downtown Vancouver with renewable energy infrastructure for decades to come.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Development, you are a key member of the Development team. You will focus on advancing low-carbon district energy systems in both new and existing buildings. You will work closely with stakeholders, developers, and world-class consultants, bringing to life unique energy infrastructure that provides low-carbon heating and cooling to buildings. You will:
- Provide technical design input and review throughout the design process as the owner s representative, balancing technical design, financial modelling, and business development, often developing projects from the ground up.
- Assist in evaluating technical and financial feasibility of potential opportunities.
- Work closely with our Projects and Finance teams and be exposed to the engineering, commercial, financial, operational and regulatory considerations of projects.
- Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives.
- Assist in marketing and business development and contribute positively to the overall brand of Creative Energy by maintaining a strong presence within the local architecture, engineering and construction community.
- Coordinate with external resources and key stakeholders.
- Represents Creative Energy as a brand ambassador, advancing the Creative Energy brand within target markets.
Qualifications and Experience:
You have 5+ years of experience in technical design or optimization of hydronic heating and cooling HVAC systems and experience working on projects more than $5M. You achieved a degree or diploma in a relevant Engineering discipline, with a background in thermal energy and/or building design and an affinity for energy/financial modelling, as well as experience or desire to participate in business development.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
- Desire to participate in business development, including but not limited to the preparation of pitch decks, presentations, and relationship development.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
- Familiarity with private development, institutional and/or healthcare sector projects is an asset.
- Exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills. with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships; able to collaborate with colleagues, project teams, customers and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly knowledgeable in the use of Excel.
- Solid time management, organizational and planning skills and demonstrated flexibility coping effectively with changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
What We Offer:
- Competitive starting salary - $86,500 - $108,000 - placement on the range is dependent on your applicable experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
