***Essential Functions:***
* Assist the Food Service cooks in any way needed. Assist with the cafeteria lunch line and distribution of supplies to cottages.
* Become knowledgeable on the basic job elements of the Food Service positions of Sanitation and Distribution.
* Assist when possible with keeping the Food Service Department within all standards of cleanliness. Helps with sweeping, vacuuming and mopping. Assist with the washing of trays and pots and pans as needed.
* The Food Assistant will be involved in planning, organization, and implementation of special events.
* Will assist in duties including but not limited to the lunch line, dinner delivery, food delivery for special events, and delivery of food to cottages.
* Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
* May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.
* In times of need, the Food Service Assistant may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.
***Performance/Physical Requirements*****:**
* Work involves prolonged periods of standing, preparing meals, washing dishes, and involves some lifting of supplies and catering trays up to 50 pounds. It also involves bending, stooping, walking, and carrying supplies and dishes.
* Interacts verbally with coworkers, representatives from outside agencies, and clients.
* Must possess the ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
* English reading, writing and basic mathematical skills required
* Attention to detail and confidentiality required.
* May involve driving supplies to and from various locations.
* Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
***Qualifications:***
Minimum age of 18 years and a valid Ohio Drivers License and safe driving record are a must. H.S. diploma or GED preferred and previous experience is preferred
