We have an immediate opening for a Senior Media Planner in our Overland Park, KS Office. This position is responsible for managing integrated planning needs across a portfolio of travel industry accounts. MMGY media team members possess a strong curiosity to learn, are creative and collaborative thinkers to ensure the delivery of new media solutions, and must have a drive to deliver maximum and efficient value for our client's media investments. Knowledge across digital, traditional, social, and B2B channels is preferred. MMGY is looking for a collaborative, team player with a strong work ethic and aptitude for learning more about data-driven marketing.

Responsibilities

Strategic Thinking

  • Complete understanding and mastered skills as it relates to media planning across all integrated media channels
  • Responsible for incorporating client background and marketing objectives into client media plans and development of client KPIs working closely with the media manager on the team for execution
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to synthesize client information, media objectives, and campaign strategies into effective campaign execution
  • Develop media budget recommendations, media mix, and communication strategies for paid executions
  • Leverage media and consumer research to inform planning decisions
  • Lead innovative planning strategies- vet and pitch proactive ideas to a client portfolio, selling and educating both internal teams and client
  • Present and oversee integrated media plan development, recommendations, evaluation, and ongoing optimizations and insights for the internal team and client.
  • Own ongoing client POVs
  • Identify vendor opportunities and latest innovations to apply to client work and develop POVs
  • Monitor media trends for assistance in strategic and creative development
  • Own day-to-day client relationships as media lead on a portfolio of clients
Campaign Oversight and Management
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and improve campaign workflows
  • Oversee junior media associates day to day workflow to ensure campaign negotiations, launch and optimizations run smoothly, running as key point person for internal and external teams
  • Monitor performance of client performance, proactively identifying opportunities as needed including development and presentation of new vendor POVs and identifying key media trends
  • In coordination with media leadership, oversee media measurement plan and ongoing performance
  • Lead ongoing planning of client needs including plan updates, media POVs, and ongoing monthly reporting insights
  • Oversee adops activation work thoroughly to ensure high-quality standards, and troubleshoot internal technical issues during campaign execution
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum three years of media planning experience in an advertising agency or relevant experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of media planning tools including media research
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Proactive, self-motivated, deals well with ambiguity, strong time management, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills (including presentation).
  • Strong presentation skills
