Position Title: Environmental Service Technician (Event Setup)
Overview: The Environmental Service Technician is responsible for moving of furniture, trash collection,as well as set-ups and break-downs of all scheduled events. The Environmental Service Technician will be expected to perform all duties in a timely manner while working as a team with all departments. This position reports to Environmental Services Manager and Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions:
- Requires ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Responsible for checking daily event forms and setting up / breaking down rooms appropriately
- Collect and dispose of all trash and recycling after events
- Deliver washed, dried and folded linen to Dining Venues
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times
- Responsible for maintaining storage area for event equipment
- Collect, transport, and deliver linens, furniture, and equipment when needed
- All staff MUST greet resident(s) and announce their presence prior to entering room
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:- Requires some heavy lifting including ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to push and/or pull up to 140 lbs
- Responsible for moving up to 20 tables and 100 chairs during shift
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and travel between buildings by walking or by golf cart
- Must be able to kneel for long periods of time
- Ability to remove trash from compactor room and lift to shoulder height to put into dumpster
Working Conditions:- Indoors, heated and air-conditioned buildings
- Laundry at 98 degrees and above
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals
- Outdoor exposure to weather conditions for long period of time
- Potential for exposure to blood and / or other body fluids
You Have:- High School diploma or equivalent preferred, may be working towards high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years' experience in event set ups preferred
