We add value to our industry and the communities in which we work.Required SkillsThe following tasks are performed by Crane Operators:Operate cranes, cherry pickers, or other moving equipment to lift and move loads, such as machinery or bulk materialsInspects cables and grappling devices for wear, and installs or replaces cablesDirects helpers engaged in placing blocking and outrigging under crane when lifting loadsLoads and unloads bundles from trucks, barges, and trains, using moving equipmentInspects and compares load weights with lifting capacity to ensure against overloadCleans, lubricates, and maintains mechanisms, such as cables, pulleys, and grappling devicesRead load chartsPerforms other related duties as requiredThe following knowledge is required to skillfully perform the job of Crane Operator:Must be a Certified Crane Operator and able to provide proof of certificationKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses repair, and maintenance.Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures to comply with company, local, state, and/or federal lawsThe following skills are required to perform the job of Crane Operator:Controlling operations of equipment or systemsDetermining the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform a jobInstalling equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specificationsMonitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make certain equipment is working properlyPerforming routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what type of maintenance is neededGenerating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needsDetermining causes of operating errors and providing solutionsConducting tests and inspections of work to evaluate quality or performanceDetermining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operation, and the environment will affect outcomesAbility to operate a two-way radioThe following physical demands are required to perform the job of Crane Operator:Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to the exact positionOccasional bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, kneelingOccasional climbing of laddersOccasional lifting up to 50 pounds from ground to waist levelOccasional lifting between 50 to 100 poundsOccasional repetitive use of non-powered hand toolsOccasional repetitive use of vibrating hand toolsConstant repetitive hand, forearm, foot, and leg activitiesConstant sittingRepetitive movement of arms, legs, and torso together when the whole body is in motionFrequent work in dusty environmentsFrequent work in areas of excessive noiseWork variable hours including overtime hours as neededTraylor Bros., Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, genetic information, pregnancy, disability, protected activity, or other non-merit factors.Required Experience
