Overview:

Sanderling's Food and Beverage Manager is a team player that works with our operations team to provide the best professional, competent and prompt service to our guests and our client partners. They are supportive and hands-on, to drive their front of house team and ensure that all guests are beyond satisfied. We are looking for a leader with exceptional Food & Beverage skills who can create a team spirit, have a Yes I Can" attitude and inspire team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the front of house operations for LSS (Life Saving Station), Sandbar, and Beachhouse Bar.
  • Lead the operational efforts of the bar and F&B Front of the House teams.
  • Ensure that implementation and maintenance of standards of food, beverage and service quality are commensurate with a first-class operation.
  • Monitor and critique food quality and service levels.
  • Hire and train staff, tracking standards of service and productivity for food & beverage associates.
  • Create a comfortable atmosphere to encourage committed and loyal associates.
  • Forecast and schedule staff according to occupancy levels and business needs.
  • Coach and counsel staff, as well as holding monthly meetings for staff.
  • Ensure physical atmosphere and cleanliness of restaurant, including inspecting tabletops, and side-stations.
  • Monitor all current inventories and assist in end of the month inventories.
  • Attend and when applicable, lead food and beverage meetings as required.
  • Responsible for timely performance feedback and evaluations of staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef, on all upcoming events, promotions, new products, etc.
  • Handle guest complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Learn and apply coding of Food and Beverage invoices in a timely manner.
  • Weekly attendance at BEO meetings and other leadership meetings as needed.
  • Provide training, direction, supervision, and hands on?support?for direct associates?and?supervisors?to?accomplish?goals?and?objectives?of?the?food?and beverage?operation.
  • Ensure, direct and facilitate communication, engagement and conflict resolutions as needed by the team to ensure a positive associate?environment.
Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have at least 2 years previous experience and be flexible with availability to work any shifts.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, as this position requires continuous interaction with hotel guests and staff.
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including but not limited to assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when necessary.

Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations, health department regulations, and TIPS" certification is helpful.
