GiGi s is a Federated Nonprofit founded in 2003 by a mother who wanted a place for her daughter, GiGi, and other individuals with Down syndrome who could realize their dreams. Today, we are growing across North America with 59 locations and multiple openings each year. We expect to grow about 20% annually for each of the next three years. We provide free, life-changing therapeutic, educational, and career training programs, providing 300,000 hours of programming in 2023 to individuals of all ages.


In collaboration with the Director of Development, this position will be responsible for the coordination and cultivation of events. The ideal person will lead and manage our existing events, create new events, assist to identify and solicit sponsorships, financial gifts, and in-kind donations from donors, corporations, and others.

These events are at the heart of Gigi s strategy for growth, and this person will leave no detail unexplored. The individual will ensure events are highly professional, memorable, fresh and imbued with the mission of the company. On event day, they will serve as the primary staff liaison to volunteer event chairs and committees.


By working with marketing to ensure effective materials and event promotion is accurate, the Events Manager will engage donors and grow relationships, build collaborative partnerships, and analyze events to identify future improvement opportunities.


This position is with our headquarters and will initially be fully in person with the opportunity to move to a hybrid schedule after a minimum of 90 days.


What the Role Entails:


  • Plan, organize, and execute successful fundraising events that generate the revenue necessary to fund the mission of GiGi s Playhouse. Currently there are three major events (Annual Gala, GFAC peer-to-peer fundraiser, & Golf tournament)
  • Partner with the Development team, our founder, and other stakeholders, departments and staff on fundraising event project plans to events meet goals for attendance, contributions, and satisfaction.
  • Support marketing in developing marketing and promotional strategies to drive attendance and awareness for events, utilizing various channels such as social media, email marketing, media (radio and TV), press releases, and print materials.
  • Partner with the Development team to forge strategic partnerships with local businesses, corporations, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance event sponsorships, in-kind support, and collaborative marketing efforts.
  • Track and analyze event metrics, including attendance, revenue, expenses, and return on investment, to evaluate event success and inform future planning efforts.
  • As the company continues to grow, so will events! Your expertise in creating new experiences and events will be critical as we had 2-5 smaller events in the future.
