QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: LPN/RN Current License without restrictions.

Experience: Requires at least one year of experience in the health industry and in developing and/or presenting educational activities.

Skills: Must have excellent organizational, planning, implementation, and communication skills. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed. Must possess the ability to work with people at all levels of education and experience. Must be a self-starter and highly motivated. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have strong facilitation skills.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting in planning, developing, presenting, and documenting educational/training programs based upon the health industry standards and company specifications.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Workforce Development Training Specialist (Healthcare)

CONTRACT:12 Month

SALARY RANGE: $52,000 - $55,000

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist Health Flex Lab Nurse Coordinator with maintaining quality short-term health programs by developing and using policies and procedures that are in place for daily operation of Health Flex Lab.
  2. Teach regularly scheduled day and evening Health Flex Lab programs as agreed. Including but not limited to LTCNA, CMA, Advanced CMA, CMA-Update, MAT, MAT-Update, Home Health Aide Deeming etc.
  3. Provide clinical instruction supervision for students at approved facilities and create consistent quality and professionalism in clinical facilities.
  4. Assist Nurse Coordinator to maintain students records and necessary records required by accrediting bodies.
  5. Provide coverage for Health Flex Labs as needed.
  6. Assist with recruiting and qualifying other part-time Health Instructors.
  7. Assist students in learning process, using OpenLMS and textbooks, demonstrating and practicing skills, checking off skills as required by the ODCTE and NAR.
  8. Maintain records of students' progress per Health Flex Lab procedures, the Oklahoma Department of Career Tech Education (ODCTE), and the Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) requirements.
  9. Have knowledge of and uphold standards and requirements outlined by the ODCTE and NAR for all Health Flex Lab programs.
  10. Opening and/or closing the Health Flex Labs using outlined procedures.
  11. Upkeep of equipment, supplies, and lab spaces. Includes but not limited to proper process used for checking out equipment to students and utilizing the weekly maintenance of lab process.
  12. Be willing to obtain additional training required for instructing the Health Flex Lab programs by the ODCTE and NAR.
  13. Assist in continuous quality improvement for all Health Flex Lab and health related courses by regularly updating curriculum and identifying equipment to meet current industry standards and the ODCTE and NAR requirements.
  14. Assist in creating consistent quality instruction in clinical facilities.
  15. Assist in maintaining a program of public relations that serves to promote understanding, maintain a positive morale, and keep the public informed regarding Autry Technology Center, Workforce Development, and Health Flex Lab activities, needs, and successes.
  16. Assist in upholding and enforcing the policies and procedures of the Board of Education.
  17. Participate in professional development and other school meetings and functions as required.
  18. Participate in reduced staff schedule for all 12-month employees.
  19. Maintain professional behavior and appearance in classroom and in clinical facilities.
  20. Teach customized health courses as needed.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL FACTORS:

  1. Physical demands include bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, learning, hearing, near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, field of vision, naturally or with correction, isolation, close areas, good eye-hand coordination.
  2. Be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
  3. Some lifting required (up to 50 pounds).
  4. Perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations.
