The Opportunity:

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing support for various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities, income, expenses).
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate cash flow reporting.
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support payroll processing by maintaining records and handling queries.
  • Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices.
