**Laborer**
Excavating Carl Junction, Missouri Minimum Experience **Entry-level** Compensation **Starting at $16.00/hr** GENERAL LABORER
The Laborer for Jeff Asbell Excavating and Trucking, Inc. must have verifiable experience in the construction industry, be able to work extended hours and be willing to travel. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check is required of all successful candidates.
Essential Functions:
* Unload tools, prepare building site materials, and set up equipment.
* Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space.
* Safely use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
* Follow all instructions, rules and requests of the Job Supervisor, Superintendent, Division Manager and others in the chain of command.
* Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from job site.
* Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly. Report any issues or unsafe conditions.
* Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn as required.
* Maintain and submit accurate paperwork as requested, including but not limited to employee time and field notes.
* Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner while following all health and safety regulations.
* Willing to work and have reliable transportation.
* Work well in a team, including but not limited to understanding and communicating information clearly.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
* Must have construction experience
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* BNSF, eRail, OSHA 10, and other safety trainings required but may obtain upon hire.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand on uneven surfaces.
* The employee must frequently lift up to 50lbs, along with climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching and grasping.
Work Environment/Conditions:
Continuously work outside in extreme environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and wet temperatures.
