Safety Manager


Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to develop and oversee safety operations across VoidForm's various locations (Fort Worth, Denver, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Canada). This position will operate primarily out of our Fort Worth, TX location and will occasionally travel to our other locations.


The purpose of the Safety Manager is to develop and maintain a safe, efficient, and productive workplace by working closely with all departments and team members. They will be responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, providing training, and offering expert knowledge and skills to generate and promote a positive and safe work environment. The Safety Manager may also provide additional support to management during business department audits or as needed.

1. Reports daily to the assigned worksite to manage various safety operations and functions.

2. Responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the company safety program, including creating policies, conducting safety audits, scheduling and leading monthly and weekly safety meetings in various markets and departments, online and in-person safety training, training recommendations, and corrective action plans for employees who need it.

3. Maintains and updates all OSHA regulatory agency compliance and documentation. Ensures the company is following OSHA regulations, including monitoring compliance, and following up to ensure policies, documents, and procedures are up to date.

4. Creates audit protocols and categories. Audits warehouses and vehicles regularly. Visit locations and may be asked to ride along with drivers and audit performance. Partners with Fleet Manager and Plant Managers to establish proactive safety processes, tracking, and correcting compliance issues; promotes initiatives to improve Health and Safety.

5. Partners with Fleet and Logistics Departments to participate in investigations of all vehicular accidents and injuries and recommends corrective actions. Works with the Fleet Manager to ensure all accident records, insurance company correspondence and attorneys correspondence, and all necessary arrangements are made after an accident or injury.

6. Partners with the Human Resources Department to handle Workers' Compensation claims from initial injury reporting to claim resolution. Work closely with HR to

ensure employees and management understand the Workers' Compensation process and ensure that claims are reported and processed correctly.

7. Schedules, prepares, and conducts weekly and monthly safety meetings; provides information to all locations to ensure all employees are aware of company policies and procedures, and any changes or updates to these policies. Collaborates with Fleet, Logistics, and Plant Managers to develop and implement effective safety training programs.

8. Develops and facilitates training events for employees to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations, including new employee orientation, vehicle safety, and equipment operation. Evaluates training effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvements.

9. Maintains and updates company safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Collaborate with Fleet, Logistics, and Plant Managers to develop and implement effective policies and procedures that promote a safe and healthy work environment. Communicates policy changes to all employees and ensures understanding and compliance.

10. Supports safety and HR initiatives, creates strategies to align with the Company s goals and objectives

11. Must be available to travel to all the Company locations, as needed. Traveling up to 20% of the year to Canada, Colorado and multiple locations throughout the State of Texas, including future locations in other states and regions.

12. May serve as a backup to their department teammates, when needed.

13. Contributes to a safe, accident-free, working environment by abiding by all safety procedures and policies as defined by the Company and OSHA regulations.

14. Performs other duties as assigned based on experience, skills, and business needs.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet objectives.
  • Experience working in computer programs including MS Office Suite, Teams, Adobe, etc.
  • Excellent reading, writing skills, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong general office skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with VoidForm s behavior standards and values.


Education, skills, and proficiencies:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: 5 + years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a transportation and/or warehouse environment.
  • Required: Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience in compliance in these regulations.
  • Preferred: 4-year College Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Preferred: OSHA LEAN Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher; or Certified Safety Professional (CSP); or Occupational Health & Safety Technician (OHST).


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Prolonged periods of walking in and around the warehouse
  • Bending, stooping, and lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Climbing stairs to and from office spaces.
