JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Inspectors must learn to read daily schedule and accurately identify various styles listed.
  • Visual inspection for cosmetic appearance and uniformity must be performed for each piece to include the following:
    1. Fabric must be free of flaws and any defects.
    2. Fabric must be the same shade and uniformity on backs, arms, seats and ottomans.
    3. Wing to arm ratio must be checked and be equal on both the left and right sides.
    4. Outside backs must be checked to assure that there are no unacceptable gaps at back side.
    5. Welt, gathers, seams and two-needle must be straight, level and uniform.
    6. Must check outside arms and backs for protruding staples and remove them if applicable.
    7. Check shipping label & schedule to verify that style number, cover number and thread color number are all correct.
    8. Inspector completes daily quality defect sheet - Identify type of defect and location of defect.
  • Quality Inspectors must sit in every seat and check for following:
    1. Test each motor through its full cycle to verify that it works properly.
    2. Makes sure all massage motors operate properly to include each cycle and setting.
    3. While in full recline inspector must check to make sure no raw frame or fabric shows.
    4. Check pitch to verify that it is correct.
    5. Check drop down table tops and console lids for proper installation and operation.
    6. Check for console cup holder color and proper installation.
  • Back Quality Check:
    1. Make sure the backs are in alignment with the seats.
    2. See that backs are aligned both horizontal and vertical.
    3. Check to see that backs are filled, padded and applied uniformly from side to side and top to bottom.
    4. Verify that backs are all the same height.
    5. Makes sure that there are no unacceptable gaps in backs.
    6. Tie off strings must be pulled at the same depth in all backs, seats and arms.


  • Seat quality check:
    1. Make sure seats line up horizontally and vertically.
    2. Seats must be filled properly with all corners filled out.
    3. Check for seat comfort, compression and feel - must be uniform in all seats.
    4. Verify that seats have no visible gaps, from seat to seat and from seat to ottoman.
  • Arm quality check:
    1. Arms must be properly padded and consistent from left to right side.
    2. Arms must be filled and regulated properly and according to accepted standards.
    3. Arms must be applied uniformly from left to right.
    4. Pleats on stumps in one arm must be a mirrored image of the other.
  • Ottoman quality check:
    1. Ottomans must be properly filled and consistent from left, center & right.
    2. Must line up from left to right, top to bottom - no drooping corners, etc.
    3. There must be no noticeable gaps between ottomans.
  • Inspector must apply the appropriate hang tags.
  • Shipping label to track quality and manufacturing process is applied by the inspector.
  • Maintain clean and organized work station.
  • Assist others when necessary.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Basic reading and writing skills required.
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate the English language.
  • Must be able to correctly identify colors.

  • Personal Protection Equipment should be worn at all times within the department as well as throughout the plant where designated.
  • Safety is enforced each day to prevent any accidents.
