**Position Summary**

Drives tractor trailer combination to transport warehouse items & rebar.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Drives truck applying commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.

Daily perform a pre and post- trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle. Document any maintenance that may be required per company policy. Report equipment issues to Manager or the garage. Be responsible for maintaining service intervals for vehicle. Maintain log sheet and fuel records (and other paperwork) to maintain compliance with government regulations.

Maintain a clean driving record and operate the company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. Follow all Company policies regarding safetytraffic laws, cell phone usage, texting, nonsmoking, etc. Reports emergency situations immediately to supervisor.

Be responsible for paperwork, i.e. be sure all delivery tickets are turned in to plant personnel accurately and in a timely fashion.

Must be able to cooperate with dispatch regarding starting times, variable workload and shift ending times.

Perform minor maintenance to the assigned vehicletire pressure, change fluids and filters, and lubricate grease points. May be required to hook and unhook the trailer from the truck occasionally.

Other duties as assigned.

**Position Requirements & Education**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have previous truck driving experience.

* One (1) year previous tractor trailer experience required.

* Good driving record required.

* HazMat experience preferred.

* Must have a current Class A CDL with a good driving record.

* Must be a minimum of 21 years old.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
