Operation Assistant Manager - marine transportation


Job Details

This position is responsible for coordination and administration of day-to-day commercial vessel operations, ensuring compliance with the agreed Time Charter and Voyage Charter terms and with applicable guidelines and regulations. Punctual attendance is especially required in order to overcome time difference.


Responsibilities

Agent Division

  • Acts as general agents for their controlled vessels calling in the territory in North to South Amencan countries to coordinate among concerned parties such as a parent company, vessels, and local agents i roughly 20-30 ships from Valemax to handy sized vessels)
  • Collects and keep the parent company posted updated information in case of any change on port regulation/tariffs closely
  • Check port information, port charge in accordance with requirement from the parent company or co-workers in Chartering Division


Operation Division

  • Performs general vessels operations (3 to 5 mainly handy sized vessels) including but not limited to repares voyage instruction to the vessel/agent referring to Time and Voyage Charter Parties
  • Arranges fuel or other supplies as necessary.
  • Discusses stowage plan with Captain of applicable vessel considering various restrictions
  • Keeps monitonng ship s movement, contacts with agents, shippers or receivers etc. Negotiates with concerned party for the utmost quick dispatch at any port call (which should make sense commercially).
  • Contacts with parent company or Vessel's Owners as necessary for Owners issues Bills of Lading, checks port disbursement, forwards vouchers to parent company
  • Issues freight invoice and make laytime calculation and take care of them until settlement
  • Monitors financial results of chartering operations of the assigned voyages and reports the supervisors any issues to be addressed
  • Business trip to supervise loading/discharging operation or any other purpose if necessary


Others

  • Helps or checks translation of company's booklet issued by parent company as required.
  • Attends meetings with customers, agents or any other parties who are related to shipping as appropriate
  • Assists co-worker when necessary/ required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime related major is required.
  • More than 3 years of similar experience.
  • Proficient skills in MS office.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
