**Job Summary/Basic Function**

The Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University has periodic openings for part-time instructors to teach various classes in the media arts including video and film production, animation, interactive media, photography, and media management.

The successful candidates are expected to possess a professional level of skills and knowledge relevant to the class, and be able to effectively teach the required material to the students.

**Required Education**

Instructors should have a minimum of a masters degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline they are teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.

**Required Related Experience**

Current professional experience in one or more of these areas is required: filmmaking, TV or video production, live media production, animation, interactive media, photography, and/or media management. Persons with exceptional professional experiences, and no graduate education, may sometimes be considered for part-time positions.
