Job Details
* Perform general cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-the-house and storage areas.
* Vacuum, sweep, mop, wax, strip and buff floors daily as needed.
* Dust chairs, tables, shelves and other furniture and equipment.
* Wash windows, walls and woodwork.
* Clean and polish furniture.
* Collect and dispose of trash from hallways, RA's carts, etc.
* Clean public and employee restrooms and replenish supplies.
* Assist in turning mattresses, moving furniture and TVs when necessary.
* Stock linen closets with the amount of linen and amenities required for rooms.
* Clean ice machines.
* Clean meeting/banquet space as assigned.
* Perform general room cleaning duties not normally completed by RA's.
* Operate carpet steam cleaning and floor buffing machines efficiently.
* Handle guest requests and log information
* Clean elevators and tracks daily.
* Remove dirty linen from RA's carts and return to laundry.
* Dust and clean all light and exit signs on floors and public space areas, including fire extinguisher areas.
* Transport housekeeping goods received from receiving department to designated storage area.
* Assist in removing sheers and drapes as necessary.
* Responsible for any assigned keys.
* Wear proper attire; clean uniform, proper shoes and name tag at all times.
* Return any lost items to housekeeping.
* Complete preventive cleaning and special projects as assigned.
* Assist RA's, laundry attendants and in other housekeeping areas as needed.
* Attend all meetings related to housekeeping.
* Maintain knowledge of cleaning supplies issued daily to ensure same are used according to instructions to avoid injury/accident or damage to hotel property.
**EXPERIENCE:** One year previous housekeeping experience in commercial setting or Hotel experience preferred. **JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** * Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout shift with little to no sitting.
* Work out of doors on a continuous basis all year long in all types of weather conditions.
* Must be able to stoop, bend, twist and reach above head and shoulders.
* Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 100 lbs. occasionally with or without an accommodation.
* Ability to operate heavy machinery such as vacuum, shampoo machine, etc.
* Use of full range peripheral vision.
* Must be able to work with medium/heavy chemicals.
* Communicate verbally and in writing.
* Must have developed English language skills to be able to participate in discussions, read, and write effectively.
