Introduction:
We are a privately owned Solar Engineering Services firm, focusing exclusively on the development of industry-leading solutions. We develop, design, and sell new highly efficient products and custom installation solutions that enhance the overall adoption of solar.
Our dynamic and growing company needs a motivated designer, to provide the necessary drawings and documents to our sales team to successfully grow the business and to provide manufacturing drawings to support ongoing projects for our customers. To be successful in this role, the desired candidate will need to be self-motivated with an attention to detail while working in a small cooperative group. We operate a fast-paced and informal office, which also includes a supportive growth atmosphere.
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with sales, engineering, and project coordination to establish project requirements.
- Perform CAD solar layouts (rooftop / ground mount).
- Complete customer facing drawings and outlines.
- Generate bills of material for assigned projects.
- Create manufacturing drawings.
- Review engineering drawings and reports for accuracy.
- Provide recommendations for alternative solutions to sales when appropriate.
- Professionally represent the company.
- Develop a positive bond & rapport with co-workers.
- Encompass a full understanding of the company products, services and warranties.
- Participate in daily sales support team meetings and weekly task management meetings as needed.
- Work with outside sales personnel to provide effective support to their sales efforts.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of company systems & processes.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma (required)
- Associate s degree (preferred)
- Bachelor s degree (optional)
Experience
- Years of experience: 5+ years
Software
- AutoCad Proficient (required)
- AutoDesk Inventor (preferred)
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred qualifications
