**Opportunity**

The Area Manager Clean Energy position is responsible for building relationships and effective communication throughout the assigned territory to engage and develop Clean Energy Dealers. This role will be on the cutting edge of residential energy storage at Kohler and will be a hybrid between sales and technical consulting. The position will require significant cross-functional stakeholder management, as well as a strong technical sales background. The position is accountable for selling, planning, scheduling, conducting, directing, training, and evaluating all Clean Energy Dealers for assigned territory. For this specific role, experience in Battery Systems and Solar Applications is strongly preferred.

Learn all Kohler Power Products (generator sets, clean energy products, automatic transfer switches, load control modules, parts and accessories) and data systems (SAP, CRM, distributor/dealer portal and sales reports) to ensure proper assistance is provided, including; order tracking, stock availability, building and maintaining complete dealer database, on-boarding and retaining dealers, supporting dealers on products and technical tools and penetrating the dealer network as directed by the Regional Manager(s) and Director of Sales.

Main point of contact for all sales, quote and transactional requests while funneling more complicated requests back to Inside Account Managers and other functional departments for follow-up (generally those involving services). Work with new and existing Clean Energy Dealers to identify the best technical fit of battery systems.

Act as the technical point of contact both internally and externally with customers to describe and articulate how Kohlers technology can/would be utilized in required applications. Evaluate integration context for battery systems (electrical, mechanical, permitting) and provide integration recommendations. Responsible for the first level technical interface with the customer.

Develop and build trusting relationships with targeted Clean Energy & Residential Generator Dealers in territory. Own relationships with pre-determined Clean Energy Dealers within territory covered and drive connection and thoroughness with potential Residential/Light Commercial Generator Dealers.

Proactively seek to identify new business opportunities and applications, including new dealer lead qualification in territory.

Build, create, and complete sales presentations/submittals in conjunction with Area Managers and Regional Sales Managers. Ensure detail of presentation to drive value-add, professionalism and thoroughness to proposal process.

Work closely with all sales support functions within the Power Products Division; including Marketing, Sales Administration, Operations, Technical Services, Marketing, Accounting, Customer Service, and parallel functions with Wholesalers to ensure proper alignment of resources to drive efficiency and success.

Complete and execute special projects as directed by Regional Manager and Director of Sales.

**Skills/Requirements**

Bachelors degree required, preferably in sales, sales engineering, or marketing.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the relevant area.

Solid understanding of Battery Systems, Back Up Power Systems, and Solar Applications.

Experience in supporting, selling, and developing Clean Energy channel partners is preferred.

Must possess moderate skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and with outside contacts.

Must be able and willing to travel on 30-60% of time depending on territory.
