Production Superintendent - 2nd Processing (2nd Shift)

Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure plant effectiveness and efficiency within the Second Processing Area.
    • Supervise Rehang and Wings operations during the day shift.
  2. Leadership and Coaching:
    • Provide clear direction, training, and coaching to Supervisors and indirectly to hourly production associates.
    • Work toward achieving company-established production goals.
  3. Safety and Environment:
    • Create a safe and secure working environment by adhering to company-approved processes.
    • Foster positive relationships with production and support staff, making our company the Employer of Choice.
  4. Budget Accountability:
    • Establish, measure, and be accountable for departmental operating budgets to maintain competitiveness.
  5. Operational Plans:
    • Meet all departmental operational plans, ensuring targets for yield, birds per man-hour, pounds per man-hour, line efficiency, CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index), and QI (Quality Index) are achieved.
  6. Turnover Reduction and Safety Focus:
    • Implement processes to reduce turnover and improve safety results (as measured by the Safety Scorecard).
    • Cultivate an environment that attracts and retains talent.
  7. Skill Enhancement:
    • Continuously provide training to enhance supervisory skills and improve the skill set of hourly production associates.
  8. Innovation and Quality:
    • Develop new ideas and methods to enhance operational performance, product quality, and customer reliability.
  9. Departmental Oversight:
    • Responsible for Grading, Giblet Packing, Cut Up, and Overwrap departments.
  10. Strategic Alignment:
    • Support and promote the company's annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective planning and communication.
    • Emphasize the need for efficiency and effectiveness among all team members.

Requirements:
  • Education:
    • A 4-year degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equipped for Success:
    • Equipped with the skills and knowledge to drive operational excellence.
  • Leadership and Safety Focus:
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to safety.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset:
    • Constantly seek ways to enhance processes and product quality.
  • Passion for Poultry:
    • Experience in poultry processing is highly desirable.
