Job Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position leads and supervises assigned production operations with responsibility for productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, continuous improvement and employee management, engagement, and development. Shift Supervisors with exceptional performance will have exposure and development opportunities for growth within the organization. Ideal candidate will be highly developmental, engaging, and a change agent.

Job Duties:

Safety: Support all aspects of personal and Plant Safety. Model a sense of self responsibility for safety among associates. Exhibit a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper PPE compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free. Participate as an active member or leader of a Safety team. Compliance with all workplace and product safety standards and procedures is required.

Financial: Understand key financial drivers of the plant. Help establish and achieve the approved budget of the Plant, including developing and providing justification for the capital expenditures budget of the Plant. Manage inventory, supplies, overtime, etc. Analyze and improve associates and/or operations where noteworthy job variances may exist through lean processes, coaching employees, etc.

Leadership: Continually improve leadership and management skills. Lead and engage team; drive for understanding of KPIs and ensure results which support plant goals and KPIs. Drive engagement and accountability as a leader in the plant.

Customer Relationship: Promote a customer-centered culture at the plant, including customer sales visits, assuring on-time deliveries of a quality product, and supporting the development of new products and technologies

Technical Knowledge : Develop and continually improve technical knowledge of processes in order to continually improve and problem solve. Utilize and report results with Order Management System (Radius).

Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement and lean practices, focused and data based.

People: Build a high performing team to instill ownership of production objectives through selection, performance assessments, training, and development of associates. Support and enforce plant guidelines. Administer discipline when necessary. Drive engagement and accountability.

Quality: Optimize the production process to assure that quality is built-in, not inspected in. Quality levels must meet plant requirements. Support quality initiatives and corrective actions to drive a culture that supports our Quality Statement and helps employees learn and improve. Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC including but not limited to handling procedures, paperwork requirements, etc. Compliance with all data integrity, product safety, and GMP standards required.

Capacity Rationalization: Manage the capacity of the manufacturing processes and scheduling of associates to meet fluctuating customer demands.

Experience/Skills Required:

High school education or equivalent required

Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, etc. strongly preferred

Minimum 3 years Management and Leadership experience in manufacturing environment required (printing experience nice, but not necessary)

Lean manufacturing training and experience strongly preferred

Experience using computers for mathematical equations, data entry, etc. required

Must be extremely proficient with Microsoft Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Must be a strong communicator with all levels of employees, in the written and verbal form.

Must have the proven ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and present findings

Ability to make decisions quickly that are rational, logical, and fact driven. Strong math and measurement skills required

Proven experience with Radius, SAP, or other Production and Customer Management System required

Ability to safely lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., 50 feet in distance frequently; more weight in shorter distance may occasionally be required. Must be able to safely move about in safety-sensitive manufacturing environment.

Proven experience leading, managing, and supervising others

Candidate must exhibit the following:

Must be able to move about in offices and plant in a safe manner

Must be able to meet all physical requirements and lifting specifications of a Press Operator

Must be able to work at a computer, sitting at a desk and using a computer keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc. daily to fulfill duties

Must be able to work on and near fast moving equipment with sharp objects, using hazardous chemicals, quality viewing systems, and exposure to strobe lights.

Some travel to customer sites, vendors and other facilities may be required.
