CPU (Micro-Processor) Architecture Performance Modeling and Analysis
Business Line Description
This senior engineering vacancy is within the central architecture team, part of MCU/MPU Engineering (MME) organization. Central architecture is responsible for SoC architecture definition and related performance modeling to cover SoC s and/or related IP and Subsystems. Your specific responsibility will be performance modeling and analysis related to micro-processors for next generation devices. You will be interacting with micro-processor and SoC architects, system engineers, and SW tools teams, on a worldwide basis with the focus on advanced Automotive Processors and microcontrollers
Responsibilities
- Experience in building, integrating and verifying high level cycle accurate and/or functional models for microprocessor cores and related components such as caches and interconnects. Prior understanding of, industry standard, core architectures is a definite plus
- Using these models, conduct processor and system performance analysis using standard benchmarks, such as SPEC, EEMBC
- Understand the performance bottlenecks that affect performance: explore software and hardware optimizations to improve performance
- Perform system architecture exploration using SystemC TLM performance models using representative traffic patterns
- Excellent proficiency in SystemC, C++, Perl, Python
- Experience in developing, integrating and testing SystemC TLM models in commercial tools such as Synopsys Virtualizer, Mentor Vista etc. will be an advantage
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors and ideally a Masters/Ph.D in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- At least 10+ years of working experience in a field relevant to this job description
- Excellent proficiency in SystemC, C++, Perl, Python
- Knowledge /experience of RTL design (Verilog, VHDL) is a significant plus
- Embedded programming experience is a plus
- Applicant must be willing to travel internationally as needed
Location
- Austin, TX, USA-this is a hybrid role, so you will work in the office and work from home each week. 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. This position is NOT open to 100% remote.
