Job Details

Construction Welding Foreman is a skilled, knowledgeable, and certified craftsman who is responsible positioning, aligning, fitting, welding, installing, erecting, dismantling, bolting and/or repairing steel structures and other similar sub-assemblies for all phases of the steel construction processes of a project from start to completion, whether it is a part, sub-structure and/or a complete building structure or project.

  • Perform different types of welds, utilizing the proper tools, equipment and materials
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, procedures, rules and regulations at all times
  • Assess the needs and use of the proper tools and equipment needed for a job in order to ensure a good output
  • Assist in making buildings weather tight for nights/weekends and when appropriate during work days; be alert to pending weather conditions
  • Be responsible for daily work area cleanup, neatness, and orderly stocking of material
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, or grind component parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product.
  • Complete the tasks of the Method of Construction (MOC) for projects assigned, using the prints, project schedule and MODLOGIQ scope of work as guides. It is a Welder s responsibility to follow the plan, to communicate issues, problems, road blocks, etc. back to the Structural Steel Foreman.
  • Examine finished product or work and verify against specifications and drawings for compliance and quality; be the first level of quality control in steel fabrication
  • It is the sole responsibility of the Welder/Level II (W/L2) to perform the tasks assigned by the Structural Steel Foreman or Structural Steel Manager.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Basic blueprint reading; must be able to read, comprehend, understand, interpret, and evaluate blueprints, details and technical specifications
  • Demonstrate team skills
  • Knowledge of methods of construction, procedures, practices, materials, equipment, tools, precautions, and safety.
  • Maintain certification as an AWS D1.1 welder; must be able to read, comprehend, and understand AWS symbols, welding wire data sheets, and AWS (WPS) welding procedure specifications.
  • Minimum 1 Year work experience in welding with FCAW or SMAW
  • Valid driver s license and able to travel to destinations within the USA (office, construction site, etc.)
  • Proficient in reading, speaking, and understanding verbal and written English. Second language is a plus
  • Able to spend multiple nights away per month, when required, with or without advanced notice
  • Able to work extended hours on occasion when required

Standard hours are between 7AM and 3:30 PM, Mon-Fri
