Blacklock Financial are partnered with an A&D advisory firm who are looking to add an Associate to their technical team.
$300-$450k
Position Summary
The Associate will be a key member of the A&D (Acquisitions & Divestitures) Team and work closely with the firm's finance team. This position will provide advanced engineering technical support for the A&D Team and requires strong proficiency in reservoir engineering practices, geological understanding of the major US Lower 48 basins, and economic principles in order to provide services for a variety of clients within the energy sector.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical diligence support and inputs for modelling efforts
- Identification and understanding of key engineering & geological drivers for well performance, PDP forecasting, type curve development, well spacing patterns, and base / upside zones & inventory
- Ability to evaluate and analyse key well design & completion trends at both the operator and basin level using both public & private data
- Determination of key technical and financial assumptions for upstream & midstream assets to drive valuation and economic modelling
- Ability to build, run, sensitise, and maintain economic databases (e.g. Aries, PhdWin, etc.) containing detailed technical information
- Prepare both internal and external technical materials to be used to for pitch books, mandates, and Confidential Information Memorandums / data room presentations
- Contribution and participation in both internal and external presentations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering
- 4 years of investment banking A&D / Technical experience; OR 7 years of technical experience in Reservoir Engineering at an Oil & Gas Operator
- Operations / Production / Business Development experience at an Operator is a plus
- Masters or advanced degree in Engineering or MBA a plus, but not essential
- Technical knowledge and expertise across the Lower 48 and emerging plays within the oil and gas industry
- Software Skills: Spotfire, Aries, PHDWin, Microsoft Office, Enverus (PRISM)
