Description

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position are wide and varied; including but not limited to: providing "help desk" support via phone, fax and e-mail to users and servicers of HET's products; identifying field problems and taking the lead internally to ensure they are resolved; reviewing service literature and providing timely feedback; participating in and/or conducting training classes at seminars, trade shows, and type-clubs to provide operating, service, and maintenance support for users and operators; and adjudicating warranty claims.

Key Deliverables:

Provide help desk support for customers / maintainers of our products.

Provide warranty processing support, analysis and reporting, including timely communication with customers.

Assist with development of maintenance, ICA documents and service literature.

Take ownership of specific issues and lead the efforts to identify root cause, and ensure corrective action is put in place.

Provide feedback to engineering regarding product improvement opportunities.

Attend IA seminars, trade shows, and/or type-clubs to provide technical support and training on our products.

Develop maintenance training programs/presentations for our products.

Provide warranty processing support, analysis and reporting, including timely communication with customers.

First Year Success Factors

Develop a working relationship with distribution and OE customer base.

Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the warranty database.

Develop a working understanding of each of our products lines as they relate to specific airframe/engine types:

  • Through reading and understanding of the maintenance manuals;
  • Performing warranty tear downs, processing and investigations;
  • Learning and understanding troubleshooting procedures for their systems.


Requirements

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experience; A&P license required, I.A. preferred. Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Required Technical Competencies

1) Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of general aviation aircraft systems

2) Strong troubleshooting skills

3) In-depth understanding of blue print reading and drawings

4) Ability to visualize from sketches, photos and verbal descriptions

5) Knowledge and use of standard hand tools and measuring tools

6) Basic understanding of inspection methods

7) Strong technical writing skills

8) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals

9) Good understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations that pertain to certification, operation and maintenance practices

10) Basic understanding of Aviation vocabulary

11) Strong communication skills including the ability to present technical information

12) Basic computer skills; (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)

Beneficial Secondary Technical Competencies
  • Experience in preparing and presenting training materials to groups.
  • Pilot's license
  • Repair station experience
