Bishop & Co. is seeking a Director of Finance for a fast-paced, complex and growing organization in the food distribution and warehouse industry, based in Honolulu.
Position Summary:
Join this dynamic team as a Director of Finance where you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing all accounting and treasury functions. Your responsibilities include managing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. You'll collaborate closely with management, banks, auditors, and tax accountants to drive financial success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate annual finance department action plans and 90-day priorities.
- Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decisions and capital expenditure proposals.
- Review financial reports and meet with management to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead the annual budget preparation process.
- Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and internal controls.
- Oversee the timely and accurate monthly close of the general ledger.
- Manage relationships with external accountants and oversee audits and tax returns.
- Direct accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and develop accounting team members.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Address employee concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- CPA license is mandatory.
- Minimum five years of CPA firm or industry accounting experience.
- Preference for experience in wholesale distribution or restaurant industry.
- Minimum one year of Supervisory experience

Annual Salary Range: $130,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience
