**Description**

The Senior Inventory Planner coordinates the development, execution and communication of the inventory strategies that support the overall financial objectives. The team is responsible for ensuring that the product that SHE wants is available when SHE wants it. In partnership with the Director of Merchandise and Inventory Planning, the Senior Inventory Planner will drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory turns, and bottom-line profitability. Works cross-functionally with Planning, Merchandise, Finance, Communication and DC Operation teams. This position will be responsible for supervising, leading and training an Inventory & Control Analyst.

**Inventory Planning and Analysis**

* Establish best practices, process/system optimization, talent building and collaboration to drive short- and long-term strategies impacting assortment and buys.

* Analyzes sales and inventory at the SKU level for current and future periods.

+ Analyze daily and weekly inventory issues by proactively solving issues related to potential risks due to possible backorders or stop sell. Develop creative solutions to protect the business.

+ Provide purchase recommendations for reorders and initial season buys

+ Problem solve with cross-functional partners to resolve internal or external issues which affect inventory flow & proactively address constraints with the business.

+ Partner with logistics team to recommend shipping mode changes, as needed, to protect the business from sales loss and out of stocks. Present cost implications to business partners for approval.

+ Monitor excess inventory and develop a liquidation strategy while supporting the overall business KPIs.

+ Suggests modifications to merchandise plans regarding reorders and disposition of old and seasonal merchandise.

* Manage the weekly Open to Buy (OTB) process by developing sales, receipt, and inventory forecasts and reports performance and issues.

+ Maintains in-season allocation/inventory responsibilities including shortage management, transportation escalation, product substitutions, and receipt prioritization.

* In conjunction with the Merchandise Planning, analyze inventory for promotions/events to determine success or failure rates and makes recommendations for future promotional strategy changes if needed.

* Develop the seasons buy strategy based on overall company and product strategy. Maximize the ability of each Consultant to generate sales and revenue. Partner with Finance regarding the monthly inventory targets.

+ Develop a Long Lead Component process in conjunction with our vendors to improve read and react capabilities.

+ Develop a read and react plan in partnership with product, vendors and operations

+ Manage Liability (fabric & componentry) tracking process with our partners

* Quantifies sales loss or cost gain based on backorders or stop sells. Creates appropriate backorder/stop sell documentation and communications for appropriate management and consultants.

* Develop ad hoc business reports to support overall strategy/hindsight.

* Consistently demonstrate curiosity to drive continuous improvement to processes and practices.

* Assist and develop Inventory & Control Analyst

**Requirements:**

* Bachelors degree or equivalent retail experience

* 3+ years of experience in inventory planning in retail or direct selling environment

* Extensive experience with merchandise assortment/attribute planning and inventory systems

* Experience in delivering departmental goals and objectives

* 3+ years of strategy, insights and/or analytics experience

* Skilled in analytics, predictive modeling, statistics, and data visualization

* Strong creative problem-solving and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

* Working knowledge of Advanced Excel & MicroStrategy

* Knowledge of WMS and demand forecasting
