Our client is a a leading clinical-stage gene therapy company committed to discovering, developing, and commercializing novel gene therapeutics for patients living with serious diseases.
Position Overview:
We are looking for multiple Associate Scientist's, focused on developing and optimizing cell-based assays to support our gene therapy programs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, execution, and analysis of cell-based assays aimed at evaluating the efficacy and safety of our gene therapy candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize cell-based assays to assess the efficacy, potency, and mechanism of action of gene therapy candidates.
- Conduct experiments to characterize cellular responses to gene therapy interventions, including transduction efficiency, gene expression, and functional readouts.
- Perform cell culture techniques, including maintenance of mammalian cell lines and primary cells, transfections, and viral vector transductions.
- Execute assay protocols with a high degree of accuracy and reproducibility, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
- Analyze experimental data using various analytical tools and statistical methods, and present findings to project teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in Research, Pharmacology, and Bioanalytical teams to support project goals and timelines.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and regulatory documents as needed.
- Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies in the field of cell-based assays and gene therapy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 2+ years of industry experience in cell-based assay development.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of cell-based assay techniques, including cell culture, cell transfection, viral vector transduction, and functional assays.
- Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, qPCR, and western blotting is highly desirable.
- Experience with primary cell culture and flow cytometry is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex experimental data.
