Information Technology Support Technician


Job Details

Summary:

Technical support and assistance to internal employees using computer hardware, standard desktop applications and software applications. The Technician will troubleshoot and conduct problem determination to identify a problem source and resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Help Desk functions including troubleshooting of workstation issues and configuration of new workstations.
  • Provide user assistance/training on standard PC hardware and software applications.
  • Backup and assist other members of the IT Group.
  • Serve as a liaison between the IT group and the user community.
  • Development and maintain standard IT practices as they relate to end user computing
  • Administer and develop end user training programs.
  • Research, track and inventory computer hardware and software.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Minimum 3 days office presence required.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years Help Desk experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Authorized to work in the US and Canada.
  • Willingness to travel between U.S. and Canada offices as needed.
  • Proven interpersonal, phone and customer support skills.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Exceptional knowledge of computer hardware and desktop operating systems including Windows 10 and 11.
  • Experience working with desktop imaging solutions and software distribution tools such as SCCM.
  • Knowledge of desktop virtualization and application virtualization.
  • Knowledge of desktop security applications, computing forensics concepts and practical application thereof.
  • Experience with the installation and management of network printers.
  • knowledge of a wide range of desktop applications and security solutions, including Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, AutoDesk, Adobe, License Managers, Development Tools, Office 365, SharePoint, etc.
  • Exceptional knowledge of a wide range of diagnostic utilities including those offered by Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo, etc.
  • Working knowledge of networking, server virtualization, backups, telecom equipment preferred.
  • Flexible working hours as required.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
